It's Time for Real Healthcare Reform

McKinley: It’s Time for Real Healthcare Reform

Washington, D.C.– Congressman David B. McKinley, P.E. (WV-1) released the following statement on the American Health Care Act, the House replacement to Obamacare.

“Over the last eight years healthcare costs have skyrocketed. Working families simply cannot keep up with the soaring premiums and rising deductibles from the limited plans available to them.  After consulting with constituents, medical professionals, and business leaders, as well as local and state officials, it is very clear that we need to reform our healthcare system so more people have access to affordable and quality care,” said McKinley.

“The American Health Care Act will protect patients with pre-existing conditions, allow young adults to stay on their parent’s plan, and strengthen Medicaid so current enrollees do not have their coverage taken away from them. Over the next few weeks, the House bill will be making its way through other committees and be subject to amendments and modifications before heading to the floor for a final vote,” McKinley said.

“I’d like to thank Chairmen Walden and Brady for their leadership on this issue and I am looking forward to continuing the debate on how we can increase access to quality and affordable healthcare coverage for more families,” said McKinley.
