Today, America celebrates its 237th year of Independence.

On July 4, we come together as families, communities, and Americans to commemorate our history and remember what makes this nation the best in the world and those who made it possible.

There were 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence on this day 237 years ago. Some of these men essentially signed their own death warrants.  They took a huge risk by daring to put their names on a document that renounced the British government and declared they were independent from the most powerful country in the world.

This courageous act, and the men who led the way, should be remembered and honored on the Fourth.  We have been tried as a nation time and time again, but the resiliency of Americans never falters. As we celebrate this occasion, we should also remember those who fought so bravely for our freedom and independence, from the Founding Fathers to those serving overseas today.

I hope you and your family have a wonderful Fourth of July and God bless America.
