Investing in Energy Infrastructure

Earlier this week Congressman Tonko and I introduced, legislation that would increase federal research & development investments in the energy efficiency of gas turbines currently being used to generate electricity across the U.S.

Investing in research and development for gas turbines will help America reclaim the mantle of leadership in energy technology. We should not allow foreign countries to supplant us as the leader in innovation of gas turbines. This bipartisan legislation will create a partnership between industry and government to improve efficiency and will ultimately result in good paying jobs for American workers.

Meeting with Constituents

Our office is always open to my fellow West Virginians. Meeting with and speaking to my constituents and listening to their ideas is one of my favorite parts of serving in Congress. With many issues to confront, it’s absolutely necessary to hear the thoughts and concerns directly from the people of our great state.

This week we welcomed representatives from the West Virginia Society of Respiratory Care, the Mountain State chapter of the Military Officers Association of America(MOAA), as well as local government officials from Weirton. If you are visiting Washington and would like to set up a meeting, click here. We'd love to hear from you.

President Trump Takes Action in Syria

The world's worst dictators must not be allowed to use the world's most dangerous weapons.  Bashar al-Assad and Russia need to realize that the United States will no longer tolerate the use of WMD’s to kill innocent men, women, and children. I commend President Trump, his national security team, and our brave men and women in the military for their quick and decisive action against the tyrannical Syrian regime.  Hopefully the world can come together to finally stop this bloody conflict.

Speaking to West Virginia’s Future Leaders

On Thursday I had the opportunity to speak to this year's "40 Under 40" honorees. They are talented young men and women who are leaders in a variety of industries across the whole state.

After speaking to the group and meeting with many of them individually, it's clear that West Virginia has a talented group of people to lead us as we go forward. Congratulations to all the winners!

WVU Update: Go Mountaineers!

Junior right-handed starter BJ Myers pitched his first career complete game to lead the West Virginia University baseball team to its fifth consecutive win on Friday night, 10-1 against Kansas. The team plays Kansas today at 4 PM, looking for their sixth win in a row!

Let's go Mountaineers!

Have a great weekend!
