McKinley Votes to Repeal and Replace Obamacare
Washington, DC– Congressman David B. McKinley, P.E.,(WV-1)voted to repeal Obamacare and called for a replacement. Today’s vote was the fourth time Rep. McKinley has voted for the full repeal of Obamacare, in addition to dozens of votes to fix the most damaging parts of the law.
“American families deserve better than the unaffordable costs, reduced choices, and cancelled plans Obamacare has forced on them. This law was funded on the backs of our seniors and sold on false promises that you could keep your doctor, keep your plan, and costs would go down. And that did not happen. Today we’ve kept our promise to families and businesses in West Virginia suffering under this law,”said McKinley.
H.R. 596 repeals Obamacare and instructs House committees to continue working on replacement legislation.
“With a new Republican Senate, we can finally debate healthcare reform and deliver real solutions for the American people. We cannot simply go back to how it was before. However, once Obamacare is fully repealed, we can get health care reform right with common sense reforms that won’t put the government between patients and doctors,”McKinley said.
Rep. McKinley, a member of the Energy and Commerce Committee, which oversees health policy, has cosponsored previous replacement plans.
