McKinley Introduces Bill to Increase Access to Treatment for Opioid Overdose Patients

This week, I introduced a bipartisan healthcare bill with Rep. Mike Doyle (PA-14), which would create a program aimed at preventing repeat opioid overdoses, particularly in rural communities. Far too many patients are overdosing multiple times because they’re unable to access the necessary treatment. This bill would ensure these patients receive the treatment they need in the emergency room and are then placed in the care of a substance abuse treatment provider to receive continued care, giving them a better shot at recovery.

As the only Member of Congress with an implant, and as Chairman of the Congressional Hearing Health Caucus, I am proud to fight for people with hearing loss. Workforce West Virginia Approved for Supplemental Funding for National Dislocated Worker Grant

WorkForce West Virginia has been approved for supplemental funding of $1,056,000 for a National Dislocated Worker Grant (DWG) in response to statewide layoffs in the coal industry. This approved supplemental award may provide for the continuation of reemployment services to participants currently enrolled, as well as for a projected 200 individuals recently affected by industry layoffs.
