West Virginians soon will have to pay to obtain some public documents from the Secretary of State's Office.
West Virginians soon will have to pay to obtain some public documents from the Secretary of State's Office. Beginning Sept. 4, the office will charge fees to obtain public filings for businesses and organizations. The filings include licenses, articles of incorporation, and certificates of dissolution. These documents previously could be viewed online without charge. The Secretary of State's Office removed all the filings from its website in June after one displayed an individual's Social Security number. To read more, click here. |
