Rep. McKinley: Trump Delivers on Promises to American People
State of the Union Address Details America’s Comeback Thanks to President Trump’s Policies
Washington, February 4, 2020
U.S. Representative David McKinley P.E. (R-W.Va.) issued the following statement on President Trump’s State of the Union address tonight:
“Even while facing constant attacks, President Trump has kept his promises to the American people. He has strengthened the economy, negotiated improved trade deals, lowered the cost of prescription drugs, and built a safer and better country for our children and grandchildren.
“Since President Trump was sworn into office, we have seen wages rising at their fastest rate in years, the creation of 7 million new jobs, including 500,000 manufacturing jobs, and the lowest unemployment rate in 50 years.
“There is still more work to be done. We are looking forward to working with President Trump on drug pricing, infrastructure, economic diversification, job growth, and ways to address the opioid crisis. Rather than focusing on political messaging bills, we are hopeful that this year, House Democrats will bring legislation to the floor that can pass both the House and Senate and be sent to the President’s desk to be signed into law.”
McKinley’s 2020 State of the Union guest is Dr. D. W. Cummings, pastor of Bethlehem Apostolic Temple in Wheeling, W.Va. Pastor Cummings has served as a leader in the Wheeling community for more than 30 years. In January, McKinley and Cummings met with members of the Wheeling community to discuss issues facing the Ohio Valley.
