WTOV-Workshop on workforce needs held in Wheeling

Among the millions of jobs open in the country, vocational roles are constantly needing to be filled.

To that end, politicians and organizations from both sides of the Ohio River met at West Virginia Northern Community College in Wheeling on Thursday as part of a workshop on workforce needs.

“Work with your hands, we need people like that,” West Virginia Congressman David McKinley said. “We've got 7.5 million job openings across the country; we can't find people to work. And a lot of it is vocational education. We need people who can be machinists and carpenters, electricians and chemical workers.”
